Although Samuel Oshana loves his job and career as a Florida investment and real estate specialist and though he has spent most of his adult life in Florida, he still finds himself following the sports teams located in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts most closely. No matter how old he gets, he gets excited about Boston sports and its ever-growing reputation as a city of champions. It’s really no wonder why. Consider the last year alone. Within the last year, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series in Major League Baseball, the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl championship in the NFL, the Boston Bruins came within one game of winning the Stanley Cup and the Boston Celtics once again were in the mix in the NBA playoffs.
One of Samuel Oshana’s favorite teams is the New England Patriots. Originally the Boston Patriots, they were a charter team in the American Football League in 1960. It was seen as a great way for the city to get professional football back. The AFL was so successful, they merged with the older NFL in 1970. The Patriots’ greatest success has been in the 21st Century, so far. Their last losing season was in 2000, and they have now appeared in 11 Super Bowls, winning six, putting them in a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most championships. Head Coach Bill Bellichick and Quarterback Tom Brady make sure the Patriots are always in the hunt for the NFL championship, which makes Patriots’ fans like Samuel Oshana very happy.
